let me RE-introduce myself

since a couple of things have changed from when i first started this blog i thought i'd reintroduce myself so y'all know what you're in for...

beware! ;) 

• i am now MARRIED! whoo hoo! in may i married my high school sweetheart after almost 8.5 years of dating. FINALLY!
• i have two dogs, keeley and khloe, and a cat, randi, that i'm in love with.
• i've been crazy into thrifting lately. i've always been into thrifting but i recently discovered the goodwill outlet (it does exist!) and so i've gone a leeetle crazy. 
• i'm a nanny to a fabulous one year old. i think she may dress better than me...
• i'm really into music. i like most genres but i'm particularly fond of trap. i may do a post on here about song recommendations and such eventually. 
• i'm still really into youtube beauty videos and following fashion blogs so let me know if you have a channel or blog and i'd love to check it out!
• i use fashion and makeup to express my creativity. i cannot define my style. it's different all the time. it's almost like playing dress up every day:)
• i love food! espresso, dark chocolate, cookie butter, and fruit are my favorites.
• i used to be SUPER into fitness and health. i haven't been recently since i've been so busy but i WILL get back into it! 
• i love adventuring. it's incredibly satisfying for me to add firsts to my list of things i've done.
• this blog has always been a huge dream of mine. i'd love to make it into a special place where my readers feel like they know me personally and can feel my good vibes shining through the computer screen (such a hippie right?)

extreme makeover

well. this is awkward...

not really!

happy to be back in the blog-o-sphere! 

i debated on deleting my previous posts. i know that they seem like they're from not too long ago but i feel like i've changed a lot since the last time i posted and A LOT has happened. 

i want to turn this blog into something special. something everyone can relate to, at least a little. i feel like my previous work was not up to par. definitely not something i'm proud of, although, no regrets for sure! i'm still learning and i'm sure you'll be able to see improvements in my blog as time passes (lets hope!).

i'm here to share with you an ammaaazzing discovery.

after trying every, and i mean EVERY, low-end to high-end foundation, i think i've found THE ONE. 

ittsss.... (drumroll)

estee lauder double wear foundation! 

i didn't even try a sample of this one and i am an OBSESSIVE sampler. i just bought it on the spot.

my sales lady at neiman marcus was so knowledgable i couldn't say no. 

she also gave me the teeny tiniest jar of la mer face cream:)

this makes my awful skin look nearly flawless (or at least i'd like to think so). 

combined with my kevyn aucoin sensual skin enhancer (concealer), a match made in heaven!

quickie post: between classes

i'm really bombing on my blog-game right now. 

i really want to get back to posting every day.

i'm going to life in color, a giant paint party/dubstep concert on saturday so i'll have pictures of that soon.

this is my last semester of college. whoo hoo! 

balancing this blog and full-time work and school AND planning a wedding is going to be hard but i'd really like to keep everyone coming and have something interesting to offer.

after life in color i also hope to do the electric run in austin so i'll have something on that as well.

REVIEWS!

so i've been trying everything to help my skin. it's gotten worse at an incredible rate. 

i went to sephora the other day to try out some new skincare and makeup.

i brought home samples to try before dropping a whole bunch of money. here are my current problems. 

• my skin is dry
• my makeup creases under my eyes and in my smile lines
• i have acne scars and hyper-pigmentation
• i have acne bumps
• my face gets shiny throughout the day
• my current makeup oxidizes and gets darker throughout the day

sample reviews:

• makeupforever velvet mattifying liquid foundation:
• feels good going on. a dry, almost powdery feel.
• only has medium coverage.
• doesn't fully soak into skin.
• oxidizes and gets darker throughout the day
• NOT for me.

• clarins lotus face treatment oil:
• i've been putting this on as a moisturizer at night after my epiduo gel.
• it only takes one drop warmed between your palms and pat on your face.
• pricey, but seems worth it. 
• overall i enjoy it. might stick to coconut oil to save money.

• murad balancing moisturizer:
• smells like spf.
• thick and hard to spread.
• no huge differences in my skin coloration.
• makes me look greasy throughout the day.
• NOT for me.

still on the lookout for the perfect skincare and foundation routines. let me know if you have any suggestions!

complications.

i am beyond bummed. 

i went out last night for my roommate's 22nd birthday and didn't even make it to the action.

i was leaning over the balcony of a parking garage/ taking care of a friend when my iphone 5 (nicest phone i've ever had) slips out of my hand and bounces off of the concrete four flights down. 

kodey and i go downstairs to see if we can find it, only to find out that someone below already grabbed it and took off. 

ALL of my personal information is on my phone so i started freaking out. i had to call my parents in the wee hours of the morning to call at&t and get my phone shut down. luckily they did and quickly. 

i highly doubt the phone was even functional after the fall but i was still creeped out that someone could possibly have access to all of my information. 

THEN

after getting lost and ending up back at the parking garage kodey decided to go off and try to make sure that the people weren't just messing with us and to see if maybe the phone just bounced under a car or something and goes missing for almost an hour. i was phone-less AND fiancé-less. lets just say if was a night i wish i could forget. everything is fine now and i'm no longer fiancé-less. whoosh. 

so now i'm temporarily phone-less which makes it incredibly difficult to do ootd and take photos of other miscellaneous awesomeness. sorry if i've been MIA. i'm turning in two big projects today and then i'm a free woman. thank God.
